Bin gespannt! THe first thing that comes to mind when I look at that big guy forming at the bottom is slime mold. Slime mold normally exist as ameoba like single-cell predators. But when they've eaten an area clean, they form into a big slug and crawl away - sometimes forming a big stalk and drying out to be carried away as spores in the wind. Sounds like science fiction ;-)
